sorry again about the overload of information. I realized after I posted that it may (or may not) be rather overwhelming, especially since your rather new! With that said, I understnad that diagnosis's today tend to be based on very black and white ideals/symptoms. In most instances, we will all vary in some way. Hence the wonderfulness of 'individuality'. However it can be a pain sometimes if you are an individual in regards to fitting a certain medical criteria. I wasn't noticebly virilized at birth so doctors never thought of CAH as a possibility, simply because they have the preconception that all females will be that way. Doctors tend to overlook the fact that the human population in general has a huge variation in the norm. Consequentially we feel as though we have to live up to certain expectations because of the power and authority we feel the medical world has in defining who we are as people.
Ironically though, I have had hypertension too. It's never been really diagnosed as that - rather 'White coat syndrome' because I tend to panic when I am around doctors. Apart from that, my blood pressure is that low that I pass out!
I really don't mind you being on here and just chatting. Discussions like this aren't a waste of space - infact it is liberating to be able to spread the awareness of CAH because sometimes it can be such a taboo thing to discuss!
Have a wonderful Day - keep smiling and looking for your answers, I will be here (just like Tamara) if you have any questions
