Hi Emily,
I was a girl with CAH and always "rounder" than everyone else. I still am and it bothers me because our culture always shows skinny women. The thing is that not everyone thinks skinny is better.
We ( you and I) are loveable even if we aren't skinny. Keep an eye out for girls and women who aren't skinny but who are happy and full of life and fun. You will see that people really like them. Our weight makes us have to be stronger and more sure of ourselves than other people. Eating is not bad. It is a wonderful privilege and you deserve to eat and enjoy it, just like others do, as long as you are healthy. We have to eat healthier than other people because of the CAH thing. Sugar tends to whack us out more.
With CAH we have to talk lovingly to our bodies. They ( the bodies) are working so hard to keep us going and if we dis them all the time it's worse. I used to use food to punish my body for being different. It didn't work, though. It just got madder at me. Do you ever feel that way?
So if people don't say nice things to us, then we have to say nice things to ourselves!
Poof! Then we find our who our friends REALLY are!
I am so impressed that you wrote to the message board about this. You already show alot of courage and personal strength!
Bye for now,
BA
