re: re: Giving Medication to Toddler May. 20th, 2008 1:30pm
My son is 2 and most of the time takes his meds without issue. The prednisolone we just give straight from the syringe. With the florinef, we crush it and mix it up with a little bit of Pediasure. (He drinks 1-2 of those a day for weight gain, so we give one with his meds.) The taste never seems to bother him.
Sometimes he gets fussy and just doesn't want to take meds because he's 2. lol But that never lasts more than a few minutes.
One thing...when he was on a really nasty-tasting antibiotic once, we mixed it with chocolate syrup. It was the only way we could get him to take it. Seemed to work well though.
