re: depression and CAH linked?
Aug. 31st, 2009   5:20am

Hi Trever

I think the age you are now is very difficult for most young boys and girls anyway never mind those who have a chronic medical condition.  How are your levels? If they are off balance, if you are not having enough hydrocortisone or actually getting too much, I firmly believe this can cause you to feel lousy and depressed.

Puberty is a difficult time especially for those with CAH as hormones change so much.

Have you tried talking to your doctor about this? or anyone?  It might help as sometimes just talking about things helps.

If you read through a lot of posts here, I do think others feel like you do from time to time.  I hope that you are feeling better now and will try and see someone who can help you. Also get your levels checked!!

Good luck and take care

Mary
