switched meds, now have severe acne
Nov. 6th, 2006   8:04am
hello. i was on dexamethasone for about 8 years and just switched to cortef about a month ago. I have developed severe acne all over ( my face, chest). When i was younger i was on cortef and had the same problem. As soon as I changed to dex many years ago , my acne vanished, but the dex made me feel horrible. I really prefer cortef because i just feel so much better on it, but the acne is so uncontrollable. I was wondering why this could be happening? Is it just the type of medicine? May i be taking too much? or too little? I really dont want to change back to dex, but i need to be able to control my acne. I already went to a dermotologist about it. i have been using prescribed creams and pads for my face , but it doesnt seem to be working well. It's almost as if i'm going through puperty all over again. lol well i would appreciate any ideas or suggestions. Thanks
leigh
