re: hair
Nov. 7th, 2006   4:44pm

my hair was starting to thin out a bit...it turns out that my prednisone levels were not high enough to block the androgens that were making the hairs fall out in the first place (luckily i do look very feminine).  my prednisone has been doubled from 2.5mg 2x/day --> 5mg 2x/day.  Since then, i've also started having a period =).  it has only been about a month since my levels have been increased but i have noticed that not as much of my hair has fallen to the bathroom floor OR on the drain of the shower!  so with treatment you SHOULD  see improvements.  i only weigh about 110 lbs, so that much prednisone seemed a bit much to me at first...but doctors have to do more of a trial and error for managing medications from the transition of a child to aldulthood.
