Birth Control and CAH
Nov. 30th, 2006   10:15am
I was in the process of being tested for CAH. I went to see an endocrinologist and my testosterone and other levels were high, along with acne, excessive hair growth and short stature warranted the ACTH test. I had been ruled out for PCOS. My primary doctor started me on Yasmin birth control to help with some of the cosmetic symptoms (acne, etc). Before I could get back in to get the test done, I lost my job and health insurance. Fast forward a year and I have a new job and health insurance. I go to see another endo because I have moved. They do preliminary blood work to see if I need the stim test and all my levels come back in the "normal" range. The endo doesn't think my birth control pills skewed the numbers. My question to you all is, is it possible for my bcp to have skewed the numbers and it is still possible I may have CAH? Thank you for listening!
Lynnett
