re: re: High blood pressure Dec. 12th, 2006 8:06am
I was diagnosed with CAH as a child and have been on Cortef for as long as I can remember. I have never had a doctor ever really explain anything to me and I have had to adjust my cortef amounts myself. I feel like I should be one as small a dose as possible. He always wants to keep the same amount, but when I started to reduce from 10mg twice a day to once a day, I lost 50lbs in about 4 months! I went back to see him and they ran my blood work and said everything is normal so to continue taking it however I had been (that was about a year and a half ago).
I see my endo every year and never had any problem. I went to my family doctor b/c I had a case of hives and ended up having her tell me I had high blood pressure. No one in my family has it either. Neither my family doc or my endo seem to be able to figure out what is causing it. I have had a renal MRI, blood work (not sure what was tested for) and a 24 hr urinalysis. By reading through other posts I have come to find out the high anxiety and mood swings I seem to get are relatively normal for CAH so I figured I'd ask if high bp tended to be a symptom.
