Hi - I have LOCAH and am amenorrhea. I unfortunately also have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Anyway this is my story....I didnt even realise what LOCAH was even when I was diagnosed with it at the age of 14 until today when I looked it up on Google and foudn this website. I am now 29 yrs old and I am trying to get pregnant but sadly have not had a period since I came off the pill - which was laso treatment for my PCOS - 10 months ago. Before I came on the pill I probabaly only ever had 1-3 "natural" periods and then straight on to treatmnet - steroids (which I hated) and then Dianette (the pill). Anyway I have been taking 5mg of prednisolene for the last 8 weeks and 850mg of Metphormin 2x a day for the last 3 weeks....and still no period.
What I want to know is 1. Can you have children with LOCAH? ". Can you have children with LOCAH and PCOS? 3. What are the best fertility treatments? 4. Do I need to get tested so I dont pass CAH on to my children (please g-d may I have them)? 4. Does CAH mean I am at high risk to other diseases and if so which ones and what preventative measures do I need to take?
I really appreciate any help you could give me as I know nothing abiut this.
Oh and in terms of my numbers - since taking prednisolene my testosterone concetrate has fallen from 7.2 to 3.3 nmol/l - I dont know what this means - can you help? My Dr said he may up my prednisolene does to 7.5mg and come January he may put me on Clomid.
