re: Fertility

Hi JCH,

I'm no expert in these fertility stakes with PCOS and LOCAH but I'll put in my twopenny worth!

Firstly your Testosterone has come down well. Although 3.3 nmol/L is quite good it could come down a teensy bit more, maybe to the twos eg. 2.5 nmol/L!

So I reckon in your case, by upping your dose as your doctor has suggested, to a split daily dose of total 7.5mg this could reduce your testosterone a little more and give your 'ovulation' a kick start by evening out your adrenal hormones.

IMHO I wouldn't rush into the Clomid but give the 7.5mg Prednisolone a chance to work maybe for two or three months and see if you start ovulating.

I have read on these boards quite often how LOCAH women can become pregnant quite quickly when they are on a higher dose of corticosteroid such as Pred, than would normally be taken for standard LOCAH treatment. It's worth a try!

ALSO as M1 said, it's worthwhile to split your dose to twice daily. So for example once you start on the 7.5mg dose of Prednisolone I suggest you (check with your doctor) take 5mg in the morning early (as soon as you wake or earlier. M1 and I take our early doses about 3-4am) and the 2.5mg in the afternoon about 3-4pm. This gives you cover throughout the day but not too much overnight.

Feel free to ask any other questions! Fingers crossed!

Megan
