First of all, I would ask NIH about a weaning schedule. How long has your daughter been on steroids? That makes a difference. The weaning schedules I've heard of were slower than what has been mentioned here, at least a week at each reduced dose. When my daughter was first put on prednisone, the dr. had her at 5 mg for 3 wks, then 4 for 2 wks, 3 for 2 wks, then down to 2. Recently, we stress dosed her for almost a week and had some trouble when we tried to wean her back down at a faster pace (1 mg every 3 days, I think it was). One morning she got up and said she felt like she was getting sick, but had no symptoms other than just being really tired and feeling sick. A friend who has LOCAH felt like she was being weaned too quickly, so I went back up to the previous dose and preceded more slowly and she was ok. So watch for signs of her feeling sick.
