Hey there, ask the doctor how cortisol effects the HPA axis (hypothalamic, pituitary, adrenal axis), and how cortisol is effected by our condition? So why wouldn't there be a correlation between the two.
This is what urks me about docs. Medical docs want nothing to do with mental disorders because its not their field, and mental docs want nothing to do with the medical aspect because it's not their field. When in reality one is usually causing the other. So sadly many people slip through the cracks.
There is too much evidence out there suggesting that inadequate production of cortisol causes mental issues, not just physical.
