Something was bothering me about whether my cortisol level was really as impossible as the endo said, so I was looking at a chart of metric conversions. And it turns out that if the cortisol results were meant to be in ug/dl like the report implied, that maybe would be absolutely impossible. Because a "ug" is a microgram, as compared to "ng" which is a nanogram, and a ug is 1000 ng's.

So my cortisol level went from 14000ng/dl to 54000ng/dl, or a rise of 40000ng/dl's, when at the same time my 17-ohp only went up 121ng/dl and my 17-oh-pregnenolne only rose by 20ng/dl. So where did all the extra cortisol come from, if it couldn't all come from the relatively small amount of precursors?
