Gia, I didn't know what you meant by posting twice until I saw that your message is also on the Main board. Your topic is appropriate here on the LOCAH board, but this board has been very quiet lately. I see that you got some good responses on the other board already, but people there who are dealing with Classical CAH probably won't know much about some of the things specific to LOCAH, like ACTH stim testing.

To add to what was already posted, first of all, your 17 OHP level is not that high (I'm assuming when you just said progesterone, you meant 17 OHP). If your baseline level is over 200, then that is considered high enough to do the stim test, which is the real test for LOCAH. And it matters when your 17 OHP was tested. It should be in the morning around 8 am and during the follicular stage of your cycle. Since you're pregnant, I have no idea if the normal levels are the same as for cycling women. It's quite possible that your levels were high BECAUSE you're pregnant.

To do the stim test, they take a baseline blood draw, then inject you with ACTH, then wait 60 mins, or sometimes different intervals, then take another blood draw, and see how much your 17 OHP and some other things rise. Your 17 OHP has to go over at least 1000 to be diagnosed as LOCAH. I have no idea if that's safe to do while pregnant--you certainly need to ask the dr. that. If you are feeling well, I suspect the best thing to do is just wait until after the baby is born to pursue this any further. Good luck!

Kat
