Thanks for the info about the codes and about Carol! No, I did not know that. I'm pretty frustrated. When I mailed the stack of records 2 weeks ago, I emailed and asked that she let me know that she received them, but I haven't heard anything. Also, while I was gathering records I emailed her a couple of questions but never got a response. I'm sure she is busy, but I will give her a call if I don't hear anything soon.
My daughter has never seen a ped endo because there isn't one nearby. The 2 endos we've seen were each about an hour away. Once I called about a ped endo at UVA, about 2 1/2 hrs away, but he was booked up for several months. I wish I had gone ahead and pursued that.
No, I don't have LOCAH, although I had irregular periods and excess hair, which I assumed was in the normal range for women. I had never heard of it either until I started researching PCOS. Then I realized that my daughter doesn't fit the normal profile for PCOS at all, so I looked for other causes of high testosterone. We discovered the high test. while trying to find a cause for her chronic hives. The dermatologist went through a list of different things that can cause hives and hormones was one of them. Her periods were quite irregular, though that's pretty normal for the first couple of years. At that point, it had been 2 yrs, so I asked the dr to check her hormones and it turned out her testosterone was high.
She did not have early puberty like your daughter, although looking back, there were a few subtle signs. But she stopped growing early and has lots of other mild symptoms, which all could be dealt with except for the fatigue. I am getting concerned for her because she will be off to college next year supposedly, and right now she can barely make it through the day. Thanks for your concern!
