Doctor's Appointment
Jan. 25th, 2007   10:06pm
Hello,

Please wish me luck at my doctor's appointment tomorrow.

I finally have insurance and will be talking to my gynecologist tomorrow about the lab results I received a few months ago showing my DHEAS level at 434 (25-220 mcg/dl). The holistic doctor who ordered the test didn't know what to make of it other than possible PCOS. After doing a lot of research I learned of LOCAH. For better or worse I self-medicated for about 6 weeks with 20mg of hydrocortisone. I felt wonderful and when I had the blood work redone (about a week after tapering off) my DHEAS level was down to 79.

My total testosterone was 66 (20-76), estradiol 55 (18-480), and progesterone 1.2 (3.3-26).

Any suggestions on how to approach this with my doctor. I'm thinking I will tell him about self-medicating and hope for the best...I suppose this could be PCOS but I really want to be tested for LOCAH as I felt better on the HC than I have in 30 years.

Thanks,

Sharon
