My 14yr old daughter, NCAH, was diagnosed with shingles today. After putting it all together, she had finals, went away for the weekend with little sleep, got a vomiting virus and now these. She is currently not on any treatment for her NCAH because it is not needed right now. The pediatrician suggested that we might stress dose her if the shingles reappear because those are a sign that her body needs help.
What do you think?
Kat, Rachel is doing well. As you know we put her back on Dex (1/4 pill) because her OH17 was 7040, Andros 648, DHEA 6.6 and Total Testos. was 95. Since she has been on that dose her new labs were: OH17 5280, Andros 570 and Total Testos was 85. They did not go down much so they increased her Dex to 1/2 of a pill. It hasn't helped her energy. Maybe she is just the kind of person that needs sleep. Between school, work & church, she naps when she can. She will come home from school, do homework, nap from 5:00 - 7:00p.m. and go to bed at 10:00p and not wake up until her alarm goes off at 6:00a. Her schedule is working for her, she is not getting sick, keeping up with her responsibilities and enjoying her life. Her nausea is GONE since I put her on Prilosec and she doesn't complain of diahrrea too much either!!
I can't believe your daughter can't get a diagnosis!! Just think how frustrating it has been for parents with kids who have NCAH and there wasn't even a diagnosis to be had in history yet!!! Maybe she has something undiscovered!! Did you ever confer with NIH?
