re: Hair loss scalp pain--Also looking for Different Routes of Treatment
Jan. 30th, 2007   12:36pm

Yes. No Pain in scalp but still lots of hair loss.

My daughter is being treated for LOCAH by the Cleveland Clinic.  She is on Prednison, Yasmin, and Casodex.  She is the only one that I have ever heard of on Casodex.  It is the same meds they give to men with prostate cancer -Androgen Blocker--not as many side effects according to her Dr.  I hope we are not be used for a trial.  Her levels are on the increase in the past 6 months.  Lots of hair loss-Male pattern baldness.  I am wondering what to do about it myself.  I hope someone out there can help us.  There is a shampoo I believe it is called Nizorol---you can buy the 1% over the counter and the 2% by perscription.  http://www.androgeneticalopecia.com/hair-loss-treatments/ketoconazole-shampoo-pattern-baldness.shtml.  Read this link and see what you think.

I am looking for anyone out there that might give me some info on a natural/herbal treatment for my daughter.---Live Cell Therapy????--Herbal???

Anyone ever heard of taking this????

Glycyrrhizinate is a natural cortisol-mimicking extract from licorice. Taking a small amount of CortiTrophin 25-100 mgs/day can be beneficial in treating symptoms of adrenal exhaustion and can provide significant relief from the symptoms of chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. To best mimic the body's own physiology, CortiTrophin should be taken on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning. If a second dose is required, it should be taken before lunch. Since CortiTrophin mimics the action of cortisol, one should be very judicious in using it. It should only be used intermittently and if any adverse effects occur, such as water retention or elevated blood pressure, use should be discontinued immediately. Individuals with high blood pressure should be very cautious with this supplement and should consult their doctor. Saliva testing should be seriously considered when using cortisol simulating supplements.

Try this link as well.  I am bound and determined to try to find something to help.  I am happy to share any of my research.  Hoping that someone out there has tried different avenues.
