Hello Angie
Your daughter does seem to be in a hard situation. One natural thing I've heard of is licorice. It doesn't cause the body to make more cortisol, but it does cause the body to keep all the cortisol it's got, instead of excreting it through the kidneys. And it blocks testoterone production. But it can raise one's blood pressure, so it would only be good for those without BP problems.

(real licorice, black, not twizzlers, up to 3.5 grams per day)
