It doesn't sound like male pattern baldness to me because of the location. MPB would show in a typical male pattern, such as thinning at the temples (I'm past menopause and I have some thinning there) or the crown of the head (top of the back of the head). I would look into skin conditions that can cause hair loss, such as ringworm. Just my opinion, of course!
