I'm a newcomer searching for help Feb. 10th, 2007 12:36pm
My name is Tamara S. My fiance and I live in Nebraska, I am 27 and my fiance is 25 we have 2 children; a 4 yr old boy and 2 yr old girl. We just recently discovered that they both have the CAH to what exact degree, we havent found out yet. We go this week for the full blood testing but they did do a bone xray and unfortunately both of them are larger than should be. My son is at 14 yrs and my daughter is at 4 yrs. What does that mean exactly? Our entire families are on scavenger hunts for as much information as possible and it is all starting to become greek to me. I knew my best relief right now would be to talk to other mothers. My daughter is pseudo-hermaphrodite and that's how we discovered all of this, something just didnt look right and we went to the best hospital around no other doctor acknowledged our concerns. I was being funny i thought when i asked them to look at my boy, he has always been bigger, more muscular. But he started getting B.O., underarm hair and finally pubic hair this last year and i asked other mothers and my pediatrician at the time; everyone said they'd never dealt with it with their kids but all pretty much brushed it off. Were just in a whirlwind of emotions and confusion right now and playing the waiting game on testing and getting the answers that i know will come eventually. Any suggestions on how to handle this part of the rollercoaster ride until the ball drops??? Experience outweighs all medical paper work right now!! HELP
