It's a pretty sad state of affairs when I find myself hoping that my results will be 'bad enough' to get some treatment. I actually ended up with 2 appointments a couple of weeks apart with 2 different endo's and haven't cancelled the second in case things don't work out with the first.
Have you tried a slightly lower dose of prednisone or even hydrocortisone? I'm not sure what effect the HC had on the sinus infection...a really nasty bug had been going around at the time. As long as it took to shake it, I still found I didn't feel as incredibly weak and incapacitated as usual if that makes any sense. (I decided to wean off because I realized how little I knew about stress dosing...a sinus infection is one thing but it occurred to me that if I were in an accident and not able to tell people what I had been taking it could have been a real problem.)
Good luck pushing for some answers for your daughter. I really hope you're able to find someone willing to think outside the box.
