Some may argue that the shorter plasma half life - being 3.4 -3.8 hours for Prednisone means that a substantial dissolution of the circulating corticosteroids in the blood stream would have occurred by 24 hours and this may be what your doctor is basing his calculation on.

However my opinion is, we only often get one stab at these tests so minimise all potential variables, such as mentioned in the previous post, as much as possible.
