Bonnie, may I ask how they diagnosed your daughter with PCO? Was it mainly because of the insulin resistance? I ask because, of course, my daughter's gyno also thinks she has PCO, rather than LOCAH, even though she really doesn't fit the profile for PCO. Her stim test went to carrier range, but the gyno says you can have high 17 ohp with PCOS. She, too, is slender, mildly hirsute, mild acne, normal pelvic ultrasound, very light, irregular periods, normal insulin level. Endo at least agreed with me that it doesn't look like PCOS.
It does seem like, if your daughter was a carrier, that her 17 ohp would be elevated, but isn't it a coincidence that she had early puberty? My daughter also is a senior in high school, and I'm worried about her next year handling college because she is so TIRED all the time. Wish somebody could figure out something to help her. (Just commiserating here!)
