One thing I've wondered about with respect to suprisingly high aldosterone & cortisol levels, is the licorice effect. I don't mean that your daughter is consuming it, you probably would have mentioned so. But the way in which licorice elevates ones levels could also happen in some naturally occurring health condition.
Licorice suppresses the production of the adrenal hormone responsible for causing the kidneys to remove used aldosterone and cortisol from the blood. But if that adrenal hormone wasn't being produced, or if her kidneys are damaged, then maybe they wouldn't be removed from the blood anyways. So someone with CAH who'd otherwise have low cortisol ends up with her labs showing high cortisol?
