I know what you are saying and I have the same questions. Your daughter takes Cortef, though, doesn't she, so that doesn't stay in the system as long as pred.

I just don't know how reliable all this testing is. I was told by several people, including Kelly Leight, that you can't get a reliable cortisol reading until you've been off steroids for several weeks. Kelly also said that cortisol levels aren't really considered in a diagnosis of LOCAH.

And why was her sodium low, if her aldosterone was high, and why wasn't her potassium high if her sodium was low, and why wasn't her ACTH low if her cortisol was high, and on and on. The endo himself said the results didn't make sense.

As far as the 17 OHP, I don't know. I just know that on her stim test it went over 500, which is carrier range. Am I crazy for wanting to pay for genetic testing? And if it's not LOCAH causing high testosterone and (at least mildly) elevated 17 OHP, then what is it? Even this endo agreed that it sure doesn't look like PCOS. I'm at a loss, but thanks for your vote of confidence!

Kat
