Hi there. I just wanted to say that if her acne is getting worse it could be that she is OVERSUPRESSED. Do you know what her last labs were? Weight gain is a definate sign over oversuppression, so is acne. When I first changed over from Dex to Cortef I was on too much and my face broke out, I also became very hyper and energetic (well for me that was a good thing, but I also gained weight right away. Anyway I am on 15mg of Cortef and my daughter is on 12.5mg. I am 38 and she is 15. Anyway We take our first dose at 3am, second between 8 and 11am, third 4-5pm, and it has made a big difference. We have been able to remain on the lowest dose possible.
Two times a day would not be enough, since Cortef lasts roughly 6 to 8 hours. She would also be receiving higher doses each time, unlike when taking 3 small doses.
Also clitorises come in many sizes. Sometimes large is good, I guess unless it looks like a real penis. My mom says she needs a magnifying glass to find hers, lol. So I imagine if she had compared mine to hers, mine would have looked abnormal. By the time I was your daughter's age I was noticeably virilized.
Anyway if I were you I would not raise her dose, but use the circadian rhythm. Perhaps you will even be able to lower her dose which would be ideal. Hopefully the doctor is not trying to keep her 17 ohp into "normal" range, this will also cause oversuppression and weight gain. Good luck, let us know how it is going. Take care
