Well I was "diagnosed" with LOCAH about 6 years ago. My endo put me on Necon (birth control) to alleviate side effects. Now that I am trying to conceive, I went to see a reproductive endo and he told me I just had PCOS. I kow the symptoms are very similar (fatigue, irregular periods, body and facial hair, acne). However, I have had three unexplained small seizures in my life that directly coincided with supposed adrenal stress (roller coasters, extreme illness, and being really scared) that can't be explained with PCOS. I don't remember my 17-OH results exactly but I do remember that my stimulated results after 30 minutes was around 700. I posted all this a few months ago and was told my 17-OH numbers were too low to be CAH. Here are my questions:
1. What are the minimal levels on 17-OH baseline and stim to be diagnosed with LOCAH?
2. Has anyone been misdiagnosed with LOCAH or with PCOS and why?
3. How likely is it that I have both?
I go back to my regular endo in two weeks, and I wanted to have information from you guys that could help me when I talk to him. Thanks!
