Thanks again for the responses ladies. :)
As far as other symptoms, yes, I am always feeling tired. Some days it's like I have no energy at all. As far as feeling hot, there are times that I do get really hot all of a sudden, like if I'm really stressed out, or sometimes by just doing light housework. Just little movement like that does make me hot. Going to the grocery store literally wipes me out. I have to go lay down when I get back i'm so tired and hot.
I don't have hair loss though. In fact, my hair has always been really thick. I just have the annoyance of hair gain where it shouldn't be.
My periods have gone though phases where they are pretty regular and then not so regular. They were fairly normal up until late high school/college. Then I would skip a few months in between, then they would go back to normal. I would say in about the last 2 years, they've really started to act funny. I would skip several more months in between periods. I'm 26 yrs old by the way if that helps at all.
What prompted me to go to the doctor in the first place was last April, I had a period that lasted for a month. (They NEVER last more than 8 days) It was light to medium flow the entire time, but with occasional clots (sorry to be graphic). Then after this month long period, I had a very light period 2 weeks later that lasted for just one week. I have only had two "normal" periods this year. That was one back in January and one 2 weeks ago.
One more thing I forgot to mention. The other symptom I have had is weight gain. I'm by no means overweight but the weight gain is pretty unusual for me. And the weight is all in my stomach. You can't tell I've gained weight by just looking at me, but I can tell because I've had to go up a pant size.
