Hi Michelle, I was diagnosed at 19, but should have been diagnosed at 6 or 8. I went through years of feeling lousy while not being on steroids - no periods either. Finally at 19 I was diagnosed... and I live a normal life... I'm a teacher, I was a single parent for many years with my daughter, during that time I went back and got my bachelors degree... and now at 48, I'm working on my Masters degree. Your daughter will be fine. I can do things now that I never could have done before meds... I actually have the energy to do them now!
