ACTH test results- is it LOCAH? the doctor is not sure.... Sep. 11th, 2007 2:28pm
Hi,
I live in Poland and English is my second language- so I hope my post will be clear to undrestand. My endocrinologist suspects LOCAH and I had ACTH stimulation test done. But he says the results don't clearly indicate it. Here are the levels of 17-OHP:
0' 0,40 ng/mg
30' 2,10 ng/ml
60' 3,20 ng/ml
I also have elevated testosterone 3,6 nmol/l and DHEAS 571,3 ug/dl. My symptoms are acne and hirsutism. I've been struggling with them since I was a teenager. (I'm 28 now). My doctor told me to do computer tomography of adrenal glands to see whether they are enlarged. Actually, I ask myself why not USG scan first? Do you do TC for LOCAH diagnosing in the US? I'll be very grateful for all the feedback as I am already tired with all the blood tests that don't give clear diagnosis.
