re: ACTH test results- is it LOCAH? the doctor is not sure....
Sep. 15th, 2007   8:08am

Hi Anna,

No those results, if I am converting them correctly, don't seem to indicate CAH. The post ACTH level of 2.10 ng/ml or as many here interpret it 210 ng/dL and likewise 3.20 ng/ml (320 ng/dL) are not high enough to be the 21-hydroxylase deficiency type of CAH.

However there are other enzyme deficiencies in CAH, so you may want to suggest that your doctor look at those. Certainly your Testosterone is slightly elevated, as well as, your DHEA.

If you can afford to have the CAT scan then it may well show up any adenomas on the adrenals and could be useful - probably more useful than Ultra Sound scan as I believe adrenals are somewhat hard to see on USS.
