LOCAH in pregnancy
Sep. 24th, 2007   12:05pm

I really need some support and advice.  I was diagnosed LOCAH about a year ago and put on dex.  Before being diagnosed I was sick very often with colds and sinus infections.  Once I was on dex I was never sick...the healthiest I have been in years.

So my first question is if this is a normal LOCAH situation?  Or am I crazy?

Now I am 22 weeks pregnant.  I was kept on dex until I was about 12 weeks.  Since that time I have literally been sick every other week with colds and sinus infections.  And I don't mean just sniffles....Full blown, can't get out of bed sort of illnesses.

I have a regular ob and a high risk ob. and neither one of them seems to understand how miserable I am feeling and sort of shrug it off.  I am beyond frustrated.

Do LOCAH people normally remain on SOME steroid during pregnancy?  If so which one?  Who do I talk to about this?  My ob or my high risk ob?  What resources can I bring them??

And my last question.  Do LOCAH people generally need stress dosing...specifically before/after labor??

A very desparate

Jamie
