re: re: re: Late-onset NCAH?

Just wanted to add my experience to what was already said.   Corry is VERY right...diagnosis of PCOS is much easier and much more straight forward (especially if you find a good doctor...go for repro endo or ob/gyn).  Also treatment is much easier on the system.

What happened with me was I was diagnosed PCOS and was treated for that with Metformin, also ate low carb, exercised 3-4 times a week, lost 30 pounds (all the things that are part of PCOS treatment) and my testosterone numbers would not budge, my periods would not return, and I certainly wasn't ovulating.  This is what clued my doctor into the fact that there was more going on than just PCOS and that is when i was tested for CAH.

So that is my recommendation...Do some research on PCOS...find a doctor and discuss the possibilities...try the PCOS treatment and if it doesn't effect your lab numbers go from there.
