I'm assuming you know that all of these are antihistamines; they will not help much for something like a cold or sinus infection unless it is caused by allergies (not sure what kind of sickness you were taking them for). The D is for decongestant (which WILL help for sinus congestion), and it is the same thing as in Sudafed, I believe, which has a caffeine-like effect. So I'm not surprised that it kept you up. You can get both Allegra and Claritin without the D, which will be just antihistamine, without a decongestant, but won't have that stimulant effect.

I didn't know that Zyrtec can cause depression, so that's good to know in case my daughter wants to try it again. I think you're right about being easily triggered by meds. Hope you're feeling better.
