re: Late Onset CAH?
Nov. 4th, 2007   7:39pm
Hi Heather, to rule out LOCAH, you need to have a 17 hydroxyprogesterone test. You may also want to have your testosterone level checked due to the hair growth. You can have the hair growth and even elevated testosterone levels without having LOCAH, however. But since you have a son with CAH, then you are definitely a carrier, and it is possible for carriers to have symptoms.

But with the weight gain and fatigue, it sounds more likely to be a thyroid problem. If your TSH is over 8, then that is significantly elevated by the current guidelines:

If your dr doesn't want to try you on a thyroid medication, then I would go for another opinion. Good luck!

Kat
