re: re: re: re: re: Are illnesses harder to get over with NCAH? Nov. 7th, 2007 10:58pm
My daughter was just diagnosed with ncah by the ACTH test, at the age of 6, with the hair and accelerated bone age. My doctor says her bone age, which is 8 is not that high yet and we're not medicating. I was pretty much told that she would have PSOS, and by going every three months to take the physical exam and bone xray, the doctor would be on top of things to make sure she wouldn't become infertile, plus watch for signs of baldness, acne, start of periods, and fast growth(she's in the 97 percentile now), etc.. Is my doctor correct in not medicating yet? After reading these messages here, I"m not sure! My daughter gets really ill sometimes too, so I definitely think its all related. At the same time, on meds, will she gets huge and not be able to dance or do gymnastics anymore. These are things she loves.
