Hi Sarah, How are you? I never took the proscar, because I was so afraid! but in a way it was meant to be b/c that doctor never returned phone calls and I have found a new endocrinologist who actually cares and knows what he is doing. Instead of the proscar, I will be starting a lupron shot to shut the ovaries down for 3 months and see what actually is going on with the adrenals and other organs. what we have is very rare and cause so many symptoms (some doctor's are overwhelmed w/the symptoms) of "things" just like sinuses, the mucous membranes in our body swell because of high levels of androgens(adrenal) testosterone(ovaries).My ear,nose&throat doctor finally said to me one day. Victoria do you have a hormone problem? (I kept complaining to him about my sinuses,my ears, that whole area, even to the point of feeling lightheaded). I said yes, why and he explained to me the above. Use a saline spray at night and during the day. It does help especially during the winter months. I do have documentation on this information. I can scan a copy and email it to you or the name of the book is It's my ovaries! by Elizabeth Vliet. The book is great and provides a lot of info its very helpful.
I have a question. How do you feel on the dianette? they say that is the only bcp to use with adrenal problems and when u mentioned u are taking it I was surprised b/c not a lot of people or doctors know of it. If you have any info on the dianette can u please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you
