muscle mass decrease because of cortisone?
Jan. 6th, 2008   4:52am

Hi everyone,

I have been taking prednisone for LOCAH for about 3 months now (am currently on 3.5 mg) and have noticed that my muscle mass has decreased:(, and have decreased appetite.

My LOCAH is only high androgens, my cortisol is normal and was prior to any kind of therapy.  As a matter fact, last time i had bloodwork done the cortisol was still higher, meaning that the dose i was on 2 mg at the time, did not suppress the adrenals well enough. Does this mean i have too much cortisol in my body now (prednisone and my own adrenal cortisol production)?

Is the muscle mass decrease and loss of appetite signs of Cushings?

thanks.
