Kim,

You sound like a wonderful mother. When I was diagnosed as a teen, my mom had no emotional attacment to it at all. Probably because she didn't have an anxiety disorder and couldn't relate. It's such a coincidence that you are writing this because I just started dex again today and am panicking. I'm so scared to be on the med because of how the birth control pills gave me panic disorder. But, before the bc pills, I took dex for 3 years and was fine. So, I know logically that I will be fine on the medicine. I really need it, I stopped taking it five years ago and since then my hair got worse (chin now), I have ovarian cysts, and high testosterone. Not good at all. I think your daughter could wait to take it. I'm getting serious about taking the meds now because I want to have kids in a few years. She could always try it. Like I said, I'm scared right now, but I've been on it in the past and was fine.

If you want to e-mail me, I'm at madamel19@aol.com
