it sounds like your doctor may not be that familiar with ncah. yes, you'd have been tested at birth for classical cah, but symptoms develop later with late onset.
the first doctor i talked with about my symptoms (a male dermatologist) was very outdated in his opinions. he told me that if i had a problem, i'd be obese (i am a normal weight for my height) and that i would never have gotten my period (my periods were regular). i listened to him and wasn't diagnosed for another 1.5 years.
you're smart to insist on testing now, whether your tests show you have locah or not. testing could also indicate other problems that may be causing your symptoms, such as pcos.
