Hey all, Nova here, 21 years old....some of you may knowme from the PCOS message boards. I began having all the classic symptoms of LOCAH at age 20 but my reproductive endocrinologist feels I have PCOS despite the fact I fit the physical bill for LOCAH (Italian heritage, significantly shorter than parents, migraines, adrenaline "rushes," underdeveloped breasts, enlarged clitoris, puberty began at age 7) plus all the symptoms of PCOS (irregular menses, acne, thinning hair)
When my symptoms first began and were mild I took the 17-OHP test and its result was 89 - very normal.
Sooooo...... that was last year.....my endo wants to check it again, but I'm having doubts. He also said LOCAH & PCOS rarely occur in conjunction.
My question: Is the 17-OHP the ONLY way to test for it? Is 17-OHP the ONLY kind of deficiency present in LOCAH?
