re: re: Diagnosed with "Partial 21 Hydroxylase Deficiency" Questions?!
Mar. 20th, 2008   9:03pm

See that's what confused me about the DX. I was DX by one endo back when I was 15 that did all the testing on me but I was too scared to take the medicine. *(Plus she RXed me 2.5mg of Dex, which I hear now is way too much? She basically said I was guaranteed to get the moon face, thinner skin, hair falling out, etc)

So anyway, flash forward almost 7 years, I go in the see the Gyno and present her with my medical records and she consults a member of her team (a Reproductive Endo) and just calls me and starts me on the 150 mg of Spiro without blood work or anything. She said the Endo said once I have been DX there isn't a need to redo the bloodwork. Does that sound right?

Anyway, I HATE spiro! My boyfriend and I fighting because I don't even want to him touch me and my sex drive is depleated (it was through the roof!) If I eat a normal sized meal, I have to throw up afterwards so I can't eat much. I can't sleep either. I'm so tired of this and it's only been 2 weeks.

The nurse called to see how I was doing and I told her my symptoms and she made me an appointment next week to come in and adjust my medication. Should I suggest being put on a very low dose of a glucocorticoid instead of spiro? Are those side effects similar to spiro? Thanks!!!

Brooke
