re: Does everyone gain weight on Dex??
Apr. 27th, 2008   10:28am

I was also diagnosed same time frame, and originally only on Dex. as part of fertility issue.  Then not on it.  Then on now for about 4 yrs  (Dex. .5) (had complained of some weight gain and tired).  I am in the midst of contemplating if better or worse-- seems to be piling up not in favor of it.  I had gained just a few pounds and also tired 4 yrs ago.  Now, about 30 pounds heavier (RECORD HIGH beyond anything ever).  My face is unrecognizable to me.  Seems the hair growth did improve, yes.  Still, VERY tired, irritable.  Recently discovered "stretch" marks.  Also, thought my back was just getting layer of "fat" like rest of my middle--- but saw the discussion on hump back and now thinking it's more than just the fat.  My skin has been pretty clear, but I would otherwise have antibiotics to take if needed.  I keep on being told it's what to expect-- change with age, having kids, etc. but I feel something is just very off.  (Way back when, before diagnosis, on birth control to assist with skin and hair-- hair was still a problem-- but my weight then was fine).

Trying .5 every other night, supposedly the numbers weren't in the acceptable range.

I am wondering if going for testing during this follicular cycle is more accurate?  I always go for the check of 17-hydrox. whenever.

Bethany
