I have chosen to stay on Dex at .25mg (1/2 of the pill). I just want to tell you about this other doc I'm seeing. I do have depression and I usually see my family doc for it but I decided to see a psychiatrist. He did change my depression meds around and I'm feeling much better. He said he could help with my fatigue. I've only been on the Dex for a few weeks and I hope everything works itself out and I believe I need Dex because that is what my body is missing, but fatigue is still a problem. Well, the psych. said he believes I should be using prednisone not Dex. He wanted me to take a thyroid medication to speed up my metabolism to help my fatigue which I did for about 3 days but I was so much my fatigued and nauseated that I stopped. I tell you all this just to remind you to think when a doc tells you something. I knew that folks rarely use Prednisone and I thought that the Thyroid medication sounded like a great fix, faster metabolism = loosing weight, but I knew the thyroid was in the endo system and something didn't sound right. I'm not a doc but I did call my endo and really steered me away from those things. Also, my recent labs should I have a little problem with my kidney function which is probably caused by the Spironolactone. I'm taking the Spirono. because I wasn't taking the Dex. I'm rather deal with the side effects that MAY come from the Dex than what I've got now!!
