FATIGUE
May. 25th, 2008   3:13pm

As you may know my 18yr old daughter and I have struggled with fatigue for many years along with the regular symptoms of LOCAH.  Well, I've finally found something to help!!  Yes, we both have anxiety/depression and have always gone to our family doctor for that medication.  Since my daughter is going off to college soon (boo hoo) I took her to a psychiatrist to make sure she was on the exact correct medication.  She was, but we talked about her fatigue and he suggested PROVIGIL. She has been usingit  and it is working quite well.  I too have started it and it is working very well for me too.   In our cases, of course, it is being used off label and I can not remember what Provigil was actually created for and it does have side effects, none of which I suffer from, as with all meds.  I am not buzzing around getting everything done which I'd like to get done.  In fact I have some very sleepy days.  Today is one since I had nightmares (not caused by the Provigil, I've had nightmares since I was a child)  last night so I took a good nap today and its cloudy, cool and rainy today plus its Sunday (a day of rest!!).  Anyway, I just wanted to share the results of us using Provigil with all you fatigue sufferers.

Also, initially we asked our family doctor and our endos about Provigil and they all had barely heard of it and did not want to put us on it.  However, the psychiatrist knew exactly what it was and what it was used for, off labels and all.
