What county do you live in?

Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade,Monroe or are you on the South West Coast? Have you considered going to the U of Miami?

"I've actually had a doc tell me "I don't wanna hear your attempt at getting me to test for your self diagnosis." .""iThat thI

I hope that this person isn't your doctor anymore as it's wonderful to be confident but useless if you don't even consider what the patient has to say ......one doesn't have to go with it but the patient is the center of their healthcare/ the one that lives with the symptoms and if they don't want to at least listen to you or explain quickly  to why they are following their plan then awesome again that they are confident but doctors aren't perfect and not hearing what the patient has to say will hurt them and a patient one day.  They aren't always right and medicine is hard enough without considering the patients input.

There are gynos on every corner down here and you can fire them as they can also fire patients.  If they can't communicate with you then plenty that can and will.  But, it does seem like this one is trying to help and has an idea of what may be causing the bleeding.

I hope that you have had an internal pelvic exam to rule out things like cancer as I had bleeding and was being treated for anemia but the underlying reason actually was cancer or maybe the cancer wasn't there yet .....who knows . It was the ER doc that found the cancer and I had went through a internal pelvic test but related CAH surgeries to me and  doctors that I asked might of made that test difficult anyway Plus did  ultrasound through the gyno that didn't pick that cancer up but did see a heavy lining.

"I just don't see why she didn't run pcos related labs in addition to the basic testosterone and dhea and testosterone. "     Have asked her firmly but politely/respectfully to the thinking or reasons why she doesn't test for those? She does work for you.

To be honest and again I'm not a doctor or nurse but with respect- I can understand why she would say that the bledding has nothing to do with the Dex and ask you to see the gyno.  A  cysts was also picked up on my ultra sound and the endo office nurse went that is something for a gyno to treat.

How do you know that she hasn't treated anyone with CAH?

I do know you are trying as I had bleeding that was first brushed off  or maybe they thought it would correct itself then they thought was anemia and it was anemia that was critical enough to be life threatening but I also had undiagnosed hashimoto's thyroiditis which I read may be involved in heavy period bleeding.I had a gastro doc that found that I had Celiac Sprue as that has something to do with anemia but not the bleeding that came out in heavy soak through a  pad every three hours and then it was every hour then the pads didn't even help. The gyno also considered peri-menopause and offered progesterone for the bleeding but in the end it was cancer or maybe it was cancer, and the since treated hashimoto's, and the since treated celiac that all caused the anemia the I went for weekly iron treatment until I fainted in a pool of blood twice before the ER doctors was able to pick up on the cancer becuase the test missed it and that is when the cysts was discovered as well becuase it wasn't on the gyno ultrasound a couple months before.  Wheww I write this because medicine isn't easy and one can't affored to worry about a doctors pride or ones that don't call back.

take care

SoFlo
