Thanks for writing back, girls. Jan B...I don't know how to do the NIH thing but I'd like to know all about it...thought I'd had every test in the book over these dreaded years and still do (I'll also do some research on my own but any thoughts from any of you wonderful people out there would be of great help). Talk to me. And Sarah, Yes I know all about lasers and I am a green-eyed natural redhead and about 10 docs that I have spoken to including plastic surgeons said it won't work for me. "Hair has to be darker than the skin around it for any results". They wouldn't even take my case. Several years ago--ok many years ago I spent a year something like twice a week and a bundle of cash (ins wouldn't pay... "cosmetic" but they pay for the "head meds" brought on by this condition) on the hypertrichologist...all that for a few dime-sized areas of dead follicles along my jawline. I have a severe case of hirsutism, I shave my fingers and toes, my belly area and epilate with Nair waay below that location too. NOT pretty. I do have a great concern..Since my CAH was a recessive gene (?) and I have a son who is now 22, I need to know how to get him tested so if and when he has a child of his own, this infant is not in critical condition at birth as a salt-waster. I was not one but I do not know all the ins and outs of a "regular" CAH and SWCAH. Any more info would be appreciated. I talk alot but there's about 6 people that know of my condition..docs, my mother and hubby. It's a relief to kind of "unload" this burden with others that know what it's like. Oh, I keep the makeup and styptic companies in business !!!! A little levity. Thanks for listening and welcome more info, please. Carol
