re: re: is 169 ng/dl of 17-hydroxyprogesterone bad?
Jun. 23rd, 2008   10:42pm

thanks so much for taking the time to respond!...

well it was 169 ng/dl baseline level

Let me give you an idea of some of the test results after I asked the doctor to check it out

Testosterone        46ng/dL

Free Testerone (Direct)    0.6pg/mL

17 OH Progesterone        169ng/dL

Dehydroepiandrosterone Sulfate (DHEA-Sulfate)           99ug/dL

TSH     2.319uIU/mL

the doctor said that she thought the 17-hydroxyprogesterone was a little high so she did an ACTH stimulation test and she was really brief and and not to concerned with the results. she said they were normal and nothing was wrong.

The test went like this....first they drew my blood...then they injected me with 250 mcg of Cortrosyn (I thought maybe I would feel diff. or weird when they injected me but I didn't ...I even hoped I would so I would have an answer to what was wrong with me) then I think it was an hour (or maybe two I don't remember) later they took my blood again. So I guess that was the same ACTH stimulation test everyone else gets right? your insight is Very helpful! so what do you think?

curious
