Update since beginning Dex
Jun. 25th, 2008   5:06pm
Since I put myself back on Dex (lots of refills on my prescription) I feel like a new person! I can't believe I actually wake up in the morning instead of being dragged out of bed, I don't have to take naps and my migraines are practically gone plus I have enough energy to exercise. I had my 1st endo appt since I've been back on Dex. My doc said I gave a very good case to be back on Dex but is concerned with NIH's suggestion that I stay off.
My endo wanted to check my OH17, taken in the middle of the day, the 9th day from the 1st day of my period. It came back very suppressed at 40. My endo's recommendation is that if I'm feeling well, to stay on my .075mg of Dex.
What do you all think of my suppression? Also, I stopped Spironolactone about the same time I started Dex the 1st of May. Now my skin is extremely oily. Do you think Dex will eventually take care of my oily skin? I'm not comfortable being on Spirono because of how it changes my periods but it certainly took care of my oily skin.
By the way, I wanted to respond to other posts about the time of the month for labs. My endo likes the labs drawn 5-9 days after the 1st day of your period. However, my kids' endo has not preferance.
